AVIUM Cherry Trial

Bioamino-L® as a Supplement to the Vegetative Development on Cherry Trees.Santina/Gisela 12. Planting Year: 2014. Rosario, Rengo, Chile. 2017/18. AVIUM.

This Trial was led by the Technical Director of AVIUM–Carlos José Tapia T., Agronomist, M.Sc. The aim was to assess the effect of Bioamino-L on cherry trees on a 70 L/ha dose divided in three applications at pre-harvest.

The results of using Bioamino-L showed an increase in CEC by 2 points in contrast to control, a 28% increase in yield, a 3% increase in fruit diameter and a 13% increase in fruit weight, as well as better size distribution and a 14% increase in total calcium in fruit. As regards dry matter, firmness and soluble solids in fruit, higher levels than control were presented–though no statistical difference–, therefore, yield increase was achieved without affecting fruit quality. Lastly, a higher fruit concentration (color 5) was also achieved.

Conclusion

Applied as a pre-harvest strategy, Bioamino-L had a positive effect on size and yield without compromising fruit quality.
